Join their exceptional team of professionals in Limassol, Cyprus as an Accounting Manager and Safeguarding of Client Assets Officer. You will be primarily responsible for the Accounting function and the Safeguarding of Client Financial Instruments and Funds processes and procedures and reporting directly to the CFO.
Duties & Responsibilities:
(A) Accounting
Overview:
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, procedures and tasks of the Accounting function
- Oversee the accounting system and ensure corporate and regulatory guidelines alignment
- Contribute to the implementation and continued enhancement of Accounting and Financial Reporting procedures
Accounting records:
- Monitor and ensure that all accounting entries are recorded timely and accurately in the accounting system
- Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
Payments:
- Ensure the accurate and timely payments of the Company’s financial obligations
- Keep track of PSPs and Banks balances daily and ensure they agree to the company’s internal records
Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of regular KPI/KRI reports including operating and financial metrics, and other reports as required from time to time
- Assist the Head of Finance in the timely preparation of Management Accounts, Cash Flow / Liquidity reports, and other reports as required from time to time
Taxes
- Oversight of the calculation, payment and proper recording of the company’s tax liabilities, including corporation tax, VAT, foreign taxes ( US WHT, SDRT, FFTT, etc) and reconciling the amounts to accounting and administration systems
External and internal audit
- Assist in the coordination with external internal auditors and with preparation of information to complete the external audit

(B) Safeguarding of Client Financial Instruments and Funds
- Responsible for Safeguarding of client Financial Instruments and Funds related controls including their design, implementation, regular monitoring as well as their periodic testing, implementing changes where needed – in line with the Company’s relevant policies.
- Ownership of all Safeguarding of client Financial Instruments and Funds policies and procedures, ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and up to date in line with regulatory expectations.
- Oversight of the performance of daily reconciliation of internal and external client Funds and client Financial Instrument balances, including reviewing and providing approval for the reconciliation and monitoring of appropriate execution of fund movement in the Company’s and client’s bank accounts
- Oversight of the end of day funding process ensuring any shortfalls are covered and deposited, to manage daily Client Money Segregations.
- Management of the annual Safeguarding of client Financial Instruments and Funds audit and resolution of any findings
- Being an active member of the Safeguarding of client Financial Instruments and Funds committee, including responsibility for the preparation of the committee materials (PPT pack).
- Prepare Safeguarding of Client Financial Instruments and Funds management information to report into the Board.
- Attend / present at Board committees on Safeguarding of client Financial Instruments and Funds related matters as and when required.
- Work closely with the internal and outsourced operations and other group teams to ensure that operational procedures maintain compliance with requirements of Safeguarding of client Financial Instruments and Funds regulation
- Management and oversight of outsourced functions to third party service providers.
- Review risk events and incidents to ensure that Safeguarding of client Financial Instruments and Funds impact is correctly assessed, appropriate remedial action is taken, and appropriate preventative steps are put in place
- Prepare and review relevant regulatory reporting data to ensure that accurate submissions to CySEC are completed within the required deadline.
- Conduct of due diligence reviews of current and potential third parties.
- Participate in projects or other initiatives as required to enhance controls and operational efficiencies
- Maintain awareness of market, industry and regulatory developments and how these may impact on the company’s Safeguarding of Client Financial Instruments and Funds compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educated to degree level. Furthermore, a degree from a high-ranking university in any of the following areas is desired with a “First”: Accounting/Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering
- 5yrs + (or at least 2 years Post Qualification) Experience
- Experience in Big4s is required
- Recognised professional Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CPA) will be considered a significant advantage
- CySEC Advanced certification will be an advantage
- Experience in financial services industries will be an advantage
- Previously influenced senior managers, built strong commercial relationships
- Data analytics and excel skills
- Comfortable in working alone and as part of a team
- Strong ownership of own work and responsibilities
- Demonstrable maturity, professionalism, commercialism and gravitas
- Able to prioritise in a fast moving, changing environment, awareness of the changing dynamics and the different urgencies that such changes entail
- Ability to inspire confidence of the CFO and other senior managers through timely delivery of information and plans;
- Work independently of CFO, but consult where appropriate;
