The successful applicant must possess at least 2+ years’ experience in a Trading and/or Risk Management related role in an EU investment Firm. 

Good knowledge in Greek and fluency in English is essential.

Due to expansion of their Cyprus CySEC regulated office, they are seeking to hire an Assistant Risk Manager to join the local team in Limassol.  

Key Responsibilities:


• Collaborate with and provide assistance to the Head of Risk Management (Risk Manager):

• Oversight of market risk, monitor if exposures are within limits and review of Risk limits:

• Run stress testing for market risk and report to the Risk Manager;

• Preparation of regulatory RM reports as well as other related reports:

• Assist to establish, implement and maintain adequate policies and procedures for the operation of the RISK MANAGEMENT function (RM) of the Company including its branches as applicable:

• Assist to identify risks the firm may be exposed to contribute to the assessment of these risks and mitigation measures, assist to monitor the related risk capacity within the prescribed limits:

• Assist the Risk Manager and the Senior Management to establish, implement, and maintain adequate internal control mechanisms designed to secure compliance with decisions and procedures pertaining to the RM. Assist in the Risk and Control Assessment:

• Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience. (Educating the board of directors about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks): and

• Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company.

Relevant Experience:

• Experience (2-3 years) in managing and leading Investment/Trading Risk teams;

• Working experience in risk management function and reporting to Senior Management;

• Experience and knowledge of Risk practices across major risk types such as Business, Credit, Market, Operational, Interest Rate and Liquidity Risk. Risk Management framework (Identification, Quantification, Measurement, Mitigation of risks);

• Experience with prudential regulation e.g. Basel requirements for capital and liquidity, CRR/CRD, BRRD, MIFID, EMIR, ICAAP, Recovery and Resolution, Risk Appetite framework and other reports related to the Risk Management;

• Experience and knowledge in data analysis, trends identification, result oriented, prioritization presentation and report skills;

• Knowledge of market risk management methodologies - VaR, CVaR etc;

• Outstanding written & verbal communication skills – English is essential, and knowledge of Greek would be an advantage; and

• Proficient in use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
