How Much is Enough? Attracting & Retaining Talent in Financial Services at the iFXexpo in Cyprus

It was a pleasure to be invited to the panel “How Much is Enough? Attracting & Retaining Talent in Financial Services” at the #ifxexpo in #Cyprus yesterday with fellow panelists Elena Krutova (Exness), Anna Loizou (PwC), Eleana Agrotou (Hellenic Bank), Ross Pitman (GRS). 


My 2 key takeaways, which are nothing new, yet I’d like to share them: 

1) people want to work for a company whose values align with their own and with an inspiring purpose. People want to work to their strengths, doing good whilst doing well and importantly - with the support of a leadership that is also aligned with the corporate values.

2) the new generation of the workforce need internships and/or apprenticeships and it’s up to the companies to collaborate with the local education bodies to facilitate this, as well as opening of specific schools and courses i.e. coding schools to bridge the skill gaps.
